Protect the entire floor of your flex head auger trough with the May Wes Grain Head Auger Trough Liner Kit. Rust holes, worn steel, and grain leakage are common problems on aging flex heads. Our full-length UHMW polyethylene liner kit covers the complete auger trough floor, stopping wear and corrosion before they cost you grain and expensive repairs.
Key Features:
-
Full-Length Auger Trough Coverage: May Wes kits cover the entire floor from end to end under the full-width auger. Complete coverage prevents grain loss through rust holes and keeps crop feeding evenly into the combine feederhouse.
-
Durable 1/4" UHMW Construction: Crafted from 1/4" thick Ultra-High Molecular Weight (UHMW) polyethylene, these liners offer exceptional wear resistance and a slick surface for optimal grain flow.
-
Stops Rust Holes and Grain Loss: Moisture and trapped crop residue rust out auger floors from the inside. The UHMW liner creates a corrosion-proof barrier that eliminates rust holes, stops grain leakage, and preserves the original steel floor beneath.
-
Improves Crop Flow: The slick UHMW surface reduces drag under the auger, helping crop move cleanly across the full width of the head and into the feederhouse — especially valuable in tough, green, or high-moisture conditions.
-
Easy Installation: Each kit includes stainless steel fastening strips, shims, and size 66 small head pop rivets. Installation is straightforward—simply drill and rivet into place.
-
Made in the USA: Fabricated in Hutchinson, Minnesota by May Wes's experienced plastic fabrication team.
Compatibility:
Designed to fit a wide range of models from Case IH, John Deere, and New Holland flex heads.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a grain head auger trough liner kit? A: It's a set of UHMW polyethylene panels that install on the floor of a flex head's auger trough. The liner protects the steel floor from wear caused by the auger, blocks moisture and corrosion, and keeps grain from leaking through rust holes.
Q: Does partial coverage work just as well? A: No. Crop will catch on an exposed liner edge, pry it up, and eventually tear the liner out. May Wes only recommends covering the entire length of the auger floor using the complete Auger Trough Liner Kit.
Q: What is UHMW and why is it used for auger liners? A: UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight polyethylene) is a tough, slick plastic with outstanding abrasion resistance and a very low coefficient of friction. In a combine header, UHMW outlasts painted or bare steel floors, resists moisture-driven corrosion, and actually improves crop flow by reducing drag under the auger.
Q: Is installation difficult? A: No. The kit includes stainless steel fastening strips, shims, and pop rivets. Most operators install it in the shop with a drill and pop rivet gun.
Q: Can I install this on a head that already has rust damage? A: Minor surface rust is fine. The liner will cover it and stop further corrosion. If the floor has baseball-size or larger holes, those should be patched before installation so the liner has a solid backing.
