Protect the highest-wear zone of your flex draper header with the May Wes Grain Head Auger Liner Panel for Flex Drapers. Our single-panel UHMW liner installs directly beneath the center auger to protect the steel trough from abrasion, rust, and grain loss, extending the life of your head and keeping crop flowing smoothly into the combine feederhouse.
Key Features
- Targeted Center-Auger Protection: Engineered specifically for flex draper headers, this single panel covers the floor beneath the center feed auger where most of the wear is concentrated.
- Durable 1/4" UHMW Polyethylene: Made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight polyethylene, the industry standard for abrasion resistance. UHMW won't rust, resists abrasion and corrosion, and provides a slick, low-friction surface that improves crop flow.
- Prevents Rust and Grain Loss: Moisture and trapped crop residue rust out auger trough floors from the inside. The UHMW liner creates a corrosion-proof barrier that stops rust holes before they start, eliminating grain leakage and costly floor repairs.
- Improves Feeding Performance: The slick UHMW surface reduces drag under the auger, helping crop move cleanly from the draper belts into the feederhouse — especially valuable in tough, green, or high-moisture conditions.
- Complete Installation Kit: Every panel ships with stainless steel fastening strips, shims, and size 66 small-head pop rivets. Installation is a straightforward drill-and-rivet job that can be done in the shop with basic tools.
- Made in the USA: Fabricated in Hutchinson, Minnesota by May Wes's experienced plastic fabrication team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a grain head auger liner panel for flex drapers? A: It's a single UHMW panel that installs on the floor beneath the center auger of a flex draper header. It protects the steel auger trough from wear, rust, and grain leakage caused by constant abrasion from crop flow.
Q: Which flex draper headers does this fit? A: It's available for flex draper headers from Case IH and MacDon.
Q: What color is the liner? A: The liner is White.
Q: What is UHMW and why is it used for auger liners? A: UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight polyethylene) is a tough, slick plastic with outstanding abrasion resistance and a very low coefficient of friction. In a combine header, UHMW outlasts painted or bare steel floors under auger wear, resists moisture-driven corrosion, and actually improves crop flow by reducing drag.
Q: Is installation difficult? A: No. The kit includes stainless steel fastening strips, shims, and pop rivets. Most operators install it in the shop with a drill and pop rivet gun.
Q: Can I install this on a header that already has rust damage? A: Minor surface rust is fine. The liner will cover it and stop further corrosion. If the floor has baseball-sized or larger holes, those should be patched before installation so the liner has a solid backing.
Q: Does May Wes also make a full-length auger liner for non-draper flex heads? A: Yes. If you run a standard flex head, May Wes offers full-length Auger Trough Liner Kits designed for Case IH, New Holland and John Deere.
