Metal cutting edges on skid-steers and loader buckets can cause sparks that could ignite devastating fires and explosions when handling flammable materials.
Work safer by installing a non-sparking cutting edge on your skid loader or front end loader bucket to prevent flaming.
May Wes Poly Cutting Edges are custom made in U.S.A. from virgin UHMW Poly. UHMW or Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) is highly chemically resistant and will not spark when it comes in contact with the ground, making it an excellent spark-free cutting edge suitable for handling a wide range of corrosive and flammable materials including fertilizer (sulfur and magnesium), wood chips, lignite, fluorite, phosphorus, sulfur, recycling and more.
At May Wes, we use only virgin UHMW poly to make our poly blades. This slick and durable plastic is known for its high wear resistance. We never use reground UHMW or other inferior polymers that wear out fast, such as polyurethane or rubber.
UHMW Poly Cutting Edges will not scratch concrete floors or paved surfaces, plus they do a better job of absorbing impact should an operator strike a curb or buckled concrete with the loader, reducing wear and tear on equipment and the operator.
May Wes UHMW Poly Cutting Edges are custom made to fit your loader bucket. They are available in 4", 6" and 8" widths and 3/4", 1" and 1 1/2" thicknesses and are cut to your specified length. The cutting edges are mounted to the bucket using 5/8" bolts that are available in 2" and 3" lengths. Holes are counterbored to prevent the hardware from scratching your concrete floor or pavement. Our plastic fabricators can counterbore the holes for you on our CNC router or you can drill the holes yourself with a counterboring drill bit. Normally we drill the holes down the center of the Poly Cutting Edge so you can flip it when one side wears out.
